Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) and Dignity Health have ended their deal. This means that services for Dignity Health in Maricopa and Pinal Counties will no longer be available. What's next?

After talks with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) broke down, Dignity Health announced  it will leave the AZ Blue network on February 1, 2024.  BCBSAZ says its offers were fair and reasonable, but Dignity Health turned them down. Because of this exit, Dignity Health will no longer be in-network with many private group plans (see below for the plans affedted). However, they will still be in-network with FEP, Medicare Advantage, and ACA plans until January 1, 2025. BCBSAZ pointed out Dignity Health’s large profits; $153 million, BCBSAZ disagrees with Dignity's claim that they need higher payments and stresses how important it is that care is affordable and costs are agreeable to both parties.

*Note:

Visits to the emergency room and ongoing care at Dignity hospitals will still be paid for.
